HOUSE BILL 346
Gladys Forquer,
First Vice-President of Division 12 attended the third
hearing at the State House on January 9 and reported that no
progress was made. Another hearing is to be scheduled.
At State Convention,
when the news broke about the LPNs being excluded in House
Bill 346 – an urgent email from Barbara Barron, still State
President was sent to Representative Hughes, ONA and OHA.
It reads as follows:
“The convention body
of the Licensed Practical Nurse Association of Ohio has
reviewed the proposed HB 346 and have observed the exclusion
of the Licensed Practical Nurse in the definitions (Line 12
and 13).
We find this
oversight of over 48,000 LPNs an unfortunate occurrence and
ask that Licensed Practical Nurse be included in the
definition of “nurse”.
Thank you for your
time and attention to this urgent issue.”
Please take the time
to email Representative Hughes at
www.district22@ohr.state.oh.us with your support of
this issue. To receive or read this bill, the email address
